city of fort lauderdale (FL) -
historic preservation design guidelines

OVERVIEW

Since its 19th-century origins as a military fort, through its mid-20th century resort construction boom, the City of Fort Lauderdale has evolved from its unique origins and historic design in a series of iterations. In 2011, PDP was selected by the Department of Sustainable Design to prepare the City's first Historic Preservation Design Guidelines addressing the currently designated historic districts and properties, as well as future historic resources. The Historic Preservation Design Guidelines were completed and approved by the Fort Lauderdale City Council in the spring of 2012.
